GRANBERRY'S
SOUTHERN CEDARS PROJECT
PROJECTED TURNOUT (AROUND) AREA
inside the white ring
Jerry & Kay McWilliams
owners of Southern Cedars (GRANBERRY PLANTATION MANSION) have begun a project to make vistation to Southern Cedars more meaningful and easier.
It will be costly and Jerry is going to need our help.
He and Kay have already spent quite a bit on surveyors, and legal issues
Jerry is endeavoring to create a situation so that Southern Cedars can never be destroyed by developers by making it a STATE HISTORICAL SITE. It is already on the Historical tour schedule
and by placing a discriptive monument the state will consider making it a
protected Historical Site.
A turn around is proposed for vistors and buses with a discriptive monument
which will have a brief history of the HOUSE the GRANBERRY residents, and their lives.
The estimated cost of preparing the turn around, with an all weather surface, removal of a tree and the monument will be about $2500.00.  Hinds county has agreed to put direction markers on local roadways to direct vistors to Southern Cedars. .
Southern Cedars is already receiving around a 100 vistors per year, who are learning about the GRANBERRY families.
