DR. Collier Read Granberry

Dr. C. Read Granberry nationally prominent university professor and legislative parliamentarian. Dr. Granberry was an engineering professor at the University of Texas and for 30 years served as the parliamentarian of the Texas House of Representatives, longer than any other man in history. At the ime of his death he was the excutive director of the Texas Legislative Council. He started out under the late Sam Rayburn in 1909 and served continuously for 19 legislatures.  He was also named assistant to the prsident of the Uiversity of Texas. He served as an advisor to several governors. A street in Austin was named for him and he was buried in State Cemetery.  Dr. C. Read Granberry line of Granberry's is: Marcus, Stephen, Jeremiah Baldwin, Stephen F., Moses & Susannah (Dykes), James & Mary (Maning) Granberry.

Danny Ray Stephens Cowboy Artist and Sculpturer

Danny Ray Stephens who was in the saddle at age 3, roping at 6 and placing in the 1965 national High School Rodeo Finals in Bareback riding. Started at age 31 revealing many experience in the form of contemporary western art sculpture. A limit of 15 casts are made of each piece of Art. To his credit is "The Horseshoer", Standing Watch", Who's Bluffin ?",  "Out to Lunch", and his own choice "one More Swing". Danny was reared in the LaVaca , DeWitt County are of Texas. He is the son of Mr. & Mrs Benny Stephens, grandson of Daniel & Dora Icia (Neely Stephens, great grand son of George & Missouri Ann (Granberry) Neely, great great grandson of Moses Hill & Elvira (Lee) Granberry.
